School Building Design Capability

Provision of impartial, independent advice to LEA, Independent and Grant
Maintained Schools

• Review extent of land holdings and advise on the use of surplus land.
  
• Report on existing building stock, identifying the need for urgent repairs and
  planned maintenance.
  
• Professional Architectural and Project Management Services concerned with all aspects
  of design and procurement.
  
• Prepare drawings of existing sites and buildings.
  
• Undertake space audits of existing premises to meet curricular requirements, changes
  in age of entry or economic rationalisation of space standards.
  
• Consult with the Department for Education, Local Planning Authorities and other
  statutory bodies.
  
• Undertake building fabric surveys.
  
• Educational master planning.
  
• Assist with capital bids to the DFE.
  
• Design of new school buildings and conversions or refurbishment of existing premises.

• Investigations and advice relating to claims and disputes arising from building and
  construction defects.
  
• Providing technical advice on matters of design, detailing and construction.
  
• Project monitoring and quality audits.
  
• Advising on building procurement, project management, building contracts
  and administration.
• Advising on architects' professional services, selection of consultants, conditions of
  engagement, remuneration and fees.

Adaptations, extensions and new buildings at Winston Churchill, Fullbrook,
Howard of Effingham, Oxted, Therfield, Lingfield, Dormansland, Tatsfield,
